My ABC Scripture Memorization Flash Cards are meant to help your child learn more about the word of God. One of my greatest pleasures as a mom is to read my kids Bible stories. I created these flash cards to help my children memorize Bible verses and now I am so excited to
share my art with you 🙂
ABOUT THE CARDS
Each card has a unique background texture. These were hand-painted originally, using wet on wet watercolor art technique.
The font I picked for these cards is a manuscript font in the style of D’Nealian (most used font style in schools’ handwriting practice worksheets). D’Nealian is a style of writing and teaching cursive and manuscript (“print” and “block”) handwriting for English. It derived from the Palmer Method and was designed to ease the learning of manuscript and cursive handwriting.
Each letter has arrows that will give the child the idea of how she should write the letter with her hands.
I hand-picked the Bible verses for each of these cards, with the purpose to bring encouragement to whoever reads it 🙂
HOW TO USE THEM
These cards can be used in so many different ways! Here are some ideas:
+ Decorate your school room: Spell out words or hang the cards up next to your chalk board.
+ Memorization: Use as flash cards to memorize verses
+ Teaching: This is a neat way to learn the alphabet
+ Journaling: Incorporate these cards into your child’s Bible journaling
+ Encouragement: Send a note of encouragement to a friend or classmate (this could be a homeschool activity!)
Learning how to read and write: use the arrows to teach your child how to write letters.
PRINTING & USAGE TIPS
+ Use White 8.5 x 11 inch Cardstock (110 or 120lbs)
+ Each page has two cards, Each card measures 5×7”. You can trim them at home or have the print shop do it for you if it’s convenient.
+ Do not choose double-sided printing
+ You are welcome to laminate the cards for durability purposes.
+ Please keep in mind colors on a monitor may vary slightly from how they appear in person or how they display on one viewing device from another due to the color calibration of your device or monitor. The printing depends of the paper, monitor, printer…
+ I recommend printing the pages using a high quality printer, such as a laser jet or commercial printer, at your local office supply store or printing service for best results and assistance.
